Hair Care Tips
When it is time to relax your daughter’s hair, you should know what products to use. Luster’s® PCJ® Pretty-n-Silky® Conditioning Relaxer and PCJ® Smooth Roots™ Relaxer were designed for your daughter’s delicate hair. PCJ® relaxers and maintenance products are created especially for girls.
TIP #1: Always base around the hairline and ears to protect the skin with Pink® Oil Moisturizer or PCJ® Crème Oil. Never apply relaxer on or around hairline first. Apply in the most resistant or thickest area of the hair first. Avoid brushing, scratching or excessive combing prior to relaxing hair to prevent scalp irritation.
TIP #2: Rinse well to insure all of the relaxer is out of the hair with low-pressure water. After rinsing all visible signs of relaxer from the hair, shampoo the hair with PCJ® Color Alarm Neutralizing Conditioning Shampoo. Continue to shampoo until the lather is no longer pink but white.
TIP #3: Always condition the hair after using PCJ® Pretty-n-Silky® No-Lye Relaxer or PCJ® Smooth Roots™ Relaxer with Pink® RevitaLEX™ Conditioner and PCJ® Pretty-n-Silky® Detangler Spray before combing.
Tip #4: Protect your daughter’s hair from thinning and or breaking around the hairline by minimizing pulling her hair in tight ponytails or braiding too tight.
TIP #5: Never wear wool hats or scarves too tight around the hairline. Replenish hair robbed of moisture with PCJ® Crème Oil.
TIP #6: Always use a wide-tooth comb when removing tangles from wet hair; it’s best to use a detangler. PCJ® Pretty-n-Silky® Detangling Spray with vitamin E is formulated for ease of combing and conditioning.
TIP #7: When wrapping your hair at night, trade in that cotton scarf for a silk scarf. Cotton will dry your hair leading to breakage. PCJ® Pretty-n-Silky® NewGro™ Hairdress is an excellent choice to help prevent dry, brittle hair.
TIP #8: Want a power shine on that ponytail? Apply a quarter size amount of PCJ® Pretty-n-Silky Crème Oil with vitamin E to the hair before brushing and apply the band to secure your ponytail. The PCJ® Crème Oil will replenish vital oils lost from gels, excessive blow drying and curling while adding a wonderful shine to the hair.
TIP #9: It is suggested that your daughter’s hair is taken down and rebraided every 8-10 weeks. Always use cloth or covered elastic bands in place of rubber bands on your daughter’s styles. Uncovered rubber bands can tangle and pull hair out.
TIP #10: To avoid excessive dryness while wearing braids, apply PCJ® Crème Oil or PCJ® NewGro™ Hairdress to the scalp weekly.
TIP #11: PCJ® Detangling Spray with vitamin E will help soften and eliminate tangles while removing braids.
